The hacking trial: Rebekah speaksThursday 26 June, 2014 Rebekah Brooks spoke for the first time since her acquittal on Tuesday, telling the media crowd outside her home that she was innocent and felt vindicated by the verdicts. "The past years have been tough for us... but more importantly they have been tough for everybody on all sides who have been affected by the issues highlighted by this case.
"When I was arrested it was in the middle of a maelstrom of controversy, of politics and of comment. Some of that was fair but much of it was not, so I'm grateful to the jury." She declined to comment when asked about Andy Coulson's conviction, but her husband Charlie said: "I feel very sad about it." |
